This project is the interior design of a Neapolitan pizzeria in Yazd, Iran. The interior seating area is compact and organized around a social table that acts as the core of interaction, complemented by several outdoor seating spots on the sidewalk to strengthen the connection between the restaurant and the street.

The main design approach was to create an intimate, compact, and lively environment where arrival, waiting, and dining happen within one continuous spatial experience. The layout prioritizes visual openness, proximity of functions, and the removal of unnecessary boundaries, allowing visitors to immediately connect with the heart of the restaurant upon entry.

The most significant challenge of the project was the façade design, given the poor existing urban context and weak neighboring buildings. Instead of denying the existing condition, the design introduces a new layer as a second skin placed over the current façade. This second skin acts as an urban filter — a semi-transparent layer that maintains continuity with the surroundings while giving the restaurant a new identity and clarity.

The second skin works as a threshold between inside and outside — neither fully open nor fully closed. It creates visual depth, transforming the entrance into a transitional zone where passersby gradually experience the space before entering. As a result, the façade becomes more than a surface; it becomes part of the spatial experience and an active element in engaging the street.

Overall, the project aims to achieve maximum spatial quality within a minimal footprint, using compact organization, social interaction, and the introduction of a new urban layer to create a strong presence within the city.
